Hospital Malpractice or Hospital Negligence
Hospital malpractice, or hospital negligence occurs when a health
care provider improperly treats and cares for a patient. If your
doctor was careless, lacked proper training or disregarded rules
during your stay in the hospital, the health care provider (or
hospital ) may be found negligent. If damages arise from hospital
malpractice, you may seek remedy in a court of law.
Hospitals are liable for the negligence of their employees (see
the
Texas Medical Liability
and Insurance Improvement Act). This includes
doctors, staff nurses and technicians. Texas has specific statutes
governing medical malpractice claims. Certain time and notice
requirements apply to your hospital malpractice claim, so contact
a lawyer experienced in hospital malpractice and hospital negligence
as soon as possible. If you believe that you have suffered injury
due to the negligence of a hospital, consulting with an attorney
familiar with hospital negligence or hospital malpractice may help
you determine the strength of your claim.
